Careers at MWIDC
Build meaningful work with us.
MWIDC is growing—and building the team and systems that will carry the work forward.
Mino Wahkotowin Indigenous Development Corporation works across Indigenous education, land-based learning, professional development, leadership, and organizational reconciliation.
We are building a small, capable team of people who take responsibility seriously, work with care, and want to grow alongside the organization.
Working at MWIDC
A small organization with serious work to do.
Growth creates opportunity—and responsibility.
MWIDC is expanding its work with schools, community organizations, public institutions, professional teams, and leadership groups. As that work grows, so does the need for strong internal systems and people who can take real ownership.
Joining MWIDC at this stage means working in an entrepreneurial environment where roles can develop over time. The team will remain intentionally lean. We value people who can create order, communicate clearly, follow through, learn quickly, and contribute to work that serves people well.
Responsibility
Own your work, follow through on commitments, and pay attention to how your role affects other people and the larger organization.
Initiative
Notice what needs attention. Ask good questions, solve what you can, and help improve the systems around you rather than waiting for every next step to be assigned.
Care
Work carefully with people, information, relationships, and the Indigenous knowledge and community contexts connected to MWIDC’s work.
Growth
Be willing to learn, receive feedback, develop new capabilities, and take on greater responsibility as trust and competence grow.
Judgment
Use discretion, protect confidentiality, recognize what requires attention, and know when to act independently and when to ask.
Reliability
Consistency matters. Good systems only work when the people responsible for them can be counted on.
Current opportunity

Take increasing ownership of the systems that keep MWIDC organized and moving.

- Routine communications with clients, partners, and participants
- Digital file, document, and record organization
- Tracking deadlines, commitments, contracts, invoices, and payment milestones
- Evaluation administration and organization of program information
- Receipt and financial-document administration using established systems
- Selected meeting notes, action tracking, and general CEO support
- Helping improve recurring administrative systems as MWIDC grows
Who we’re looking for
Organized enough to create calm around moving pieces.
The strongest candidate will make the organization easier to run.
We are looking for someone who is exceptionally organized, dependable, proactive, and comfortable working independently. Strong written communication, attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to manage several priorities at once are important.
Experience in administration, coordination, executive support, or a related role is preferred. Familiarity with Google Workspace is an asset. Experience working with Indigenous organizations, communities, education, nonprofits, or community-based programming is also an asset, and knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities is strongly valued.
