Our Work

Strengthen leadership.
Turn purpose into practice.

MWIDC brings Indigenous knowledge into the work of leading people, developing organizations, advancing reconciliation, and educating the next generation.

We shape engagements around your people, priorities, and context—from a focused learning experience to an ongoing leadership series or strategic organizational engagement.

Executive & organizational work

Executive Leadership & Organizational Development

Shared purpose. Clearer roles. Responsible decisions.

For executives, boards, and leadership teams examining how their organization leads, works together, and carries responsibility.

Indigenous teachings, facilitated dialogue, experiential learning, and reflection create space to explore the principles behind your decisions—and how those principles shape everyday organizational life.

What we can work on

  • Shared purpose and guiding leadership principles
  • Roles, relationships, and organizational structure
  • Judgment, decision-making, and collective responsibility
  • Applying Indigenous knowledge to leadership practice

Formats: Leadership series, board and executive sessions, facilitated retreats, and organizational development engagements.

Strategy & institutional action

Reconciliation Strategy & Institutional Action

Turn commitments into priorities, responsibilities, and a plan for action.

For institutions and organizations seeking a practical approach to reconciliation that connects leadership commitments with organizational decisions and everyday practice.

We work with your leadership to understand the context, identify priorities, and develop an approach suited to your organization’s responsibilities and relationships with Indigenous people and communities.

The scope can include organizational assessment, Indigenous engagement, strategy development, implementation planning, and measures of progress.

Staff & professional learning

Staff & Professional Development

Connect what people learn with how they work.

For educators, frontline professionals, managers, and teams in health, social services, business, education, and public institutions.

Sessions bring Indigenous histories, worldviews, and teachings into practical questions about relationships, professional judgment, responsibility, and the people your organization serves.

  • Purpose, accountability, and teamwork
  • Understanding Indigenous perspectives and lived experience
  • Relationships and effective support for youth or adults
  • Applying learning to professional roles and daily decisions

Completed staff learning includes sessions with Youville, The Link’s COACH team, and Manitoba Blue Cross’s business-development staff.

Formats: Workshops, full-day learning experiences, multi-session series, and land-based learning where it supports the engagement’s purpose.

Schools, youth & communities

Youth Leadership & Land-Based Education

Identity, practical skills, and responsibility through real experience.

Our programs bring together cultural teachings, stories, hands-on work, and guided reflection. Young people have opportunities to develop skills, contribute to shared work, and connect learning with their own lives.

For schools, youth-serving organizations, and community partners. Programs and seasonal learning experiences are shaped around the participants, setting, and goals.

Sweetgrass Road
